It felt wild at the time because bass music culture didn’t really have its own identifiable fashion, let alone its own fashion brand. We were determined to change that.

It all started on the long drive home from Shambhala Music Festival. We had spent the week working an artist merch booth by day and diving into the festivities from dusk til dawn every night. By the end, the lack of sleep had turned our brains into unrecognizable mush.

We met so many incredible people from every walk of life that weekend. It took us back to our earlier adventures on the road when we traveled from city to city helping put on shows. Every place had its own identity, and every scene felt different, yet everything was tied together through heavy music.

That afternoon on that long drive, we decided we wanted to create a brand that represented the spirit and passion that brings this community together. Scummy Bears was born from bass and was created to be as heavy, energetic, and in your face as the music that shaped us.

Almost a decade later, the brand has continued to grow and evolve. We pull inspiration not only from dubstep but also from our early days as scene kids moshing across Warped Tour parking lots, screaming lyrics at the top of our lungs. This is not just a clothing brand to us. It is a culmination of everyone we have met across all alternative music scenes and who have fueled us along the way.

Looking ahead, we want to keep supporting heavy music culture in all its forms. We throw parties, make wild clothes, and stay connected to the roots that made us who we are. We want to give back the feeling of acceptance we spent years searching for and finally found the first time we felt the bass hit on a set of fat ass speakers.
